Our story

Gelindo Gelati was established in 1988 as a result of the desire of the three founding partners to combine their experience in the artisan gelato business to offer the consumer industrial gelato, prepared according to the best standards of gelato tradition and Italian know-how. Based on tradition, talent and the ability to innovate for a story whose leading players are three cousins, three friends, and their love of gelato.
"It all started in 1970 when Paolo Baranello, the eldest of the three, decided to open a gelato parlour in the square of his town, Mirabello Sannitico, to devote himself to his greatest passion: making gelato. Thanks to the quality of the gelato and the flair with which the cones and cups are prepared and garnished, the small business soon grew and made a name for itself beyond the borders of the small town on the outskirts of Campobasso. In the following years, the love of ice cream also attracted cousins Paolo di Biase and Roberto Volpacchio, who decided to join the former in the business. 
In 1988 came the big leap: the small gelato parlour gave way to a company and Fresco Gelati was born with its historical brand, Gelindo Gelati
Since then, the three partners have continued to offer their consumers healthy, tasty and nutritionally balanced industrial gelato.
Our origins are the basis of our choices and represent those healthy and authentic values with which we grew up and which today we proudly pass on to the next generation".

Today...

Today, Gelindo Gelati boasts a well-established presence in important large-scale retail groups, such as Conad Adriatico, MD Market, Magazzini Gabrielli, and Metro Cash & Carry and also operates through a network of wholesalers and specialised distributors serving both the Retail and Ho.Re.Ca. sectors. The production of private label industrial gelato has always been a major company asset.
Thanks to the combination of innovative production technology and established know-how in traditional gelato making and processing, Gelindo Gelati can offer the Trade a high level of production flexibility even during peak seasonal periods, always guaranteeing product quality standards, continuity of supply and respect for delivery times.
Over the years, the selection of raw materials, the controls carried out at all processing stages and the efficient distribution network has enabled the company to become a benchmark for those who want to offer their customers industrial gelato with the right price-quality ratio, within a target market.
Our gelato quality is always certified by standard procedures tested by the HACCP system and ISO 9001 certification.
